Exterior Siding Refresh - Temple, New Hampshire
Scope: Full exterior wash, repairs, trim repaint, and cedar shingle staining
This Temple, NH home hadn’t had its siding washed or stained since installation. We started by giving the exterior the deep clean it needed—low-pressure wash and hand scrubbing to remove dirt, oxidation, and mildew (see “sitting” photo for the scrub stage). With a clean, sound surface, we moved into repairs and finishing.

What we did
Wash & Scrub: Thorough exterior cleaning to ensure stain and paint adhesion.
Siding Repairs: Replaced rotted/broken siding boards and secured loose pieces.
Trim Prep: Scraped all loose/peeling paint on the trim, spot-primed bare wood, then applied a high-quality exterior topcoat.
Cedar Shingle Finish: Stained the cedar shingles with a solid-color stain for uniform coverage, long-lasting protection, and a crisp, modern look.
Why it matters
Proper prep = longevity. Cleaning, repairs, and primer build a reliable base so finishes perform and last.
A solid-color stain on cedar shingles delivers rich color while shielding against New England sun, wind, and moisture.
Addressing small areas of rot now helps prevent bigger structural issues later.
Result
A clean, protected, and cohesive exterior with sharp trim lines and beautifully refreshed shingles. The home now has the curb appeal and weather protection it was missing—ready for New England seasons.
